The problem with this feature is that your Pokédex doesn't tell you the locations of these special 'Insertion Exclusive' Pokémon and their evolutions. If you insert one of your old Pokémon GBA games into that slot and then boot up your copy of Diamond and Pearl some routes will have some Pokémon they never had before! Well now, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are giving that second game slot a new use. Now, this slot's usual use is for playing your old GBA games on your DS, albeit without any connectivity abilities.
